Good evening, everyone.  This week our focus is on comparison essays, comparing 2 things, people, places, or ideas.  For your post today, you will also compare 2 things.  Here are some ideas for you to write about (Just choose one topic):

*  You now vs. then  (How are you different than you were 5 years ago?)
*  Your life now vs. before  ( How is your life different than it was 5 years ago or 2 years ago?)
*  Your country now vs. before (What changes have happened in your country in recent years?)
*  Your father vs. Your mother
*  Americans vs. People from your country


Remember that blogs are your personal journals, so we want to read about your own thoughts and opinions. You don't have to write in paragraph or essay form.  However, you can try out some connectors to show similarity and difference.

Your Dream Job

Hello everyone.  I'm glad you're here on such a snowy winter day.  Despite the weather, we all seem cheerful!  Today we read a paragraph and an essay about work, describing it as a prison.  Work may feel like that to some people.  But if you could do any job you wanted, what would you do?  For your blogs tonight, you should write about your dream job.  What would you do if you could do anything?  Is there a job you have always dreamed of doing?  What is holding you back?  Where do you see yourself in your career 5 or 10 years from now?

Four Seasons

Good evening, class!  I am happy we have a big class tonight despite the weather.  Speaking of the weather, the topic of your blogs today is.....the weather!  Maybe you're sick and tired of this weather at the moment.  Maybe you actually like winter.  But for now, this is the topic.  You can choose one of the following questions to answer in your post.  Try to use sensory words in your descriptions.

What is your favorite season?  What do you like about this season?  What things do you like to do in this season?

What seasons does your hometown have?  Do you like the weather in your hometown?

What place do you think has the best weather?  Why?

Have you ever experienced extreme weather such as a blizzard?  Describe it.
